Amall by Dediggefedde Amall by Dediggefedde
nuckchorris0 Made a really nice script some time ago and I was asked to take a look into it:
AMALL by nuckchorris0

And now it's done!

For any of you who don't know about it:
Installing this script will add a little button within your activitiy-List of your message-board.
Pressing this button will give the respective user a Llama-badge!

A Yellow button means you already gave a Llama.
A Green means success in giving a Llama while a Red means Error.

I changed a few things, which accidentally made it now compatible with
  • Firefox + Greasemonkey
  • Chrome (native)
  • Chrome + Tampermonkey
  • Opera (native + Workaround)
  • Opera + Violentmonkey
  • Safari + Ninjakit.

In case you are wondering how to install, just follow my guid!
Using GM-scripts with other BrowserGreasemonkey-Scripts are to use with Firefox and Firefox-Addon Greasemonkey.
However, it is possible to use them in other browsers as well (now with videos!):
Firefox:
For firefox, just install greasemonkey-addon here: https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/greasemonkey/
Everything is now set well, just visit the intall-link within the userscripts-description, press install on the targeted site and refresh deviantart to use it!
Opera:
Brand new Way:
Just install the extension "Violent Monkey": https://addons.opera.com/de/extensions/details/violent-monkey/?display=en
And suddenly everything is as easy as in Firefox!
Just follow the userscript's install link and press the "install" button. A little prompt will show up and suddenly the script is working!
Oldschool (more work for less features):
See the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWqeFf6v5R0
If the userscripts aren't using GM_functions, they will work in Opera just fine with copying

Thanks again for nuckchorris0 for adding me as a contributor to the github-repository so I can update the script there in case of an error.

If you notice bugs or the script is not working for you, feel free to contact me!

I'm getting errors when I try to return a llama, every time, and it was upon my first attempt onward.

Is it related to my firewall, password, what? It's very perplexing...

Hello and thanks for your report!

This problem might be caused by Llama-giving settings.
When you visit one's profile and give him a Llama, there should be a password-request at first. Underneath that there is a checkbox to "remember password". YOu need to check this checkbox and give someone a Llama like this once so the password is saved. This is required by the Amall script.

If this couldn't solve the issue, please send me the error-message or a screanshot ( e.g. via sta.sh).

It says there's a firewall blocking it. How do I fix that?

What exactly did you do when the message came?
When you tried to download: try downloading from my own server phi.pf-control.de/userscripts/…
If the Message is still showing up when downloading, you might need to change an Antivirus-(Webprotection)-Setting.

If you could install it properly, but the message pops up every time you try to give someone a Llama via this script, please tell me the application that is warning you.

Ah, don't worry about that.^^
I see the userscripts.org link is still here... That site got offline some weeks/moths ago... I always hoped for it to come back online, but I guess I migrate to greasefork.org instead...

Thanks for the notice!

userscript.org had some problems the past weeks... probably again some browser-game-company suing them for distributing scripts...
If userscripts.org hadn't been the most trusted site for distributing scripts, I would have primarily hosted all them on my server already... maybe I will do that soon anyway... I will also need to change the update-URL within the scripts then, though...

However, there was the github-project link, which also linked to the script. you would need to click on the Amall.user.js-entry and then the RAW-Button.
This may be too complicated for some, so I added a direct-link to the github-hosted one.
I also added a mirror-link to my server φ.pf-control.de.
So, if you need to install it again, feel free to use another link^^

Will it just download like a normal add on?

Do you have a link where I can install it?
Reply
:icondediggefedde:
Dediggefedde Featured By Owner Mar 27, 2014
Well, it's a userscript, so in Firefox you'll need Greasemonkey-Addon.
In chrome, I highly suggest Tampermonkey, in Opera ViolentMonkey.

Then visit the link that leads you to a .user.js file. Your browser will ask you whether you want to install this script. After you confirm, you will need to refresh the page that should get affected for the script to load.

If you use Firefox, clicking on the monkey's head should list active userscripts for this site. For Tampermonkey in Chrome, the Icon is some black square, in Opera it's again a monkey-head.
There you can activate/deactivate scripts and see, which one are affecting the current page.

Would it be possible to have a script where you can give a llama to a random member by just clicking a button? ;'p

That's already done^^
nakos.deviantart.com/art/Llama…
It's even a big red shiny button.

If you give llamas to fast, you will be blocked from giving llamas for 5min, though.
I wrote a script to automatically press the give-button and close the new tab, when you click the red button, too!

For what? This userscript?
Personally I always recommend Firefox out of various resons.
Userscripts usually also work best in Firefox.
However, in this case, it should work on Chrome, Opera and Safari as well!
Obviously not in IE, as the userscript-"extensions" have kind of ceased to work...

If you mean the app I linked, I prefer Firefox or chrome as they work smoothly with flash-apps and web-interaction...

That seems like it isn't working for me. It just stays. Is it not for chrome?

You mean the userscript?
Well, it is working for me, also in chrome.
However, you need to type in your password in the llama-giving-field, like you are used to, and check "remember my password" for it to work.
Then it will check on sites like www.deviantart.com/modal/badge… for an active give-button and click it. if the result is a Done-field, it will close the tab.

So you have your password set, so you don't need to insert it anymore to give a llama?
Well, what else... do you use Tampermonkey? Amall may work natively but autogive_lama seems to need Tampermonkey...
I strongly recommend this extension by the way, as it's a lt easier to manage userscripts for users.

Can you describe the problem more detailed?
Also what Browser are you using (and if chrome/opera, do you use Tampermonkey etc.) ?

Edit: I just saw you replied to your comment and everything is fine now.

I would love to use this, but it's not in the Chrome Web Store, and Chrome now disallows extensions to be installed from other websites. :(

Have you read the description?
You can install Tampermonkey from the Chrome Web Store.
With Tampermonkey, you can again install userscripts from any webpage!

You can also circumvent using Tampermonkey and install it natively!
For that you need to download the script to your hard disk (right-click on the install-button on userscripts.org and choose "save as...").
Then you go to your extension-list in chrome and drag the file from your hard disk into your extension-list. That way you can still install scripts natively in Chrome.

But in my opinion it's better to use Tampermonkey or a similar script-handler as it provides more features, you can differentiate between real extensions and userscripts and you can see which sites are affected by which userscripts...
