Da_Top_Menu_Links by Dediggefedde Da_Top_Menu_Links by Dediggefedde
This userscript adds links to the top-menu.
In this example, a link to my gallery and to my favourites is inserted.
ALso one to tgchan.org to demonstrate that external links also work.

To add your own links, install this script, go to settings -> browsing -> (scroll down to) Top Links and edit the list.
After that click "Save" to get your custom top-menu-links.

Special commands:

  • Type "<hr>" in the title-field to get a horizontal devider.
  • at the end of the icon-list there is now an "empty" icon.

The script does not show top links on the browsing page in settings. I use Greasemonkey.

Tanks for the report!
Apparently a long used way to check if settings are existing got obsolete, so new users would get an exception (insid the javascript-console), when they tried to use this script.
Please update to v0.4 and check again if your problem got resolved!

Sweet! Now I can have my Journal link back! Since they took it away with the UI update.

This. Is. Good. !
I've got bookmarks for DA links and other sites related to DA scattered everywhere in FF and always wanted a menu INSIDE DA for all those links. I always wondered why they didn't give us a menu like this. Works perfect! Thank you ;)
I'm still using FF 27 but after I create a restore point and backup my profile I'm going to v.31. If stuff breaks I'll work around it.

Amazing.

One couple of things: the icons don't show in the list, only in the "current selection" and the icons doesn't not change if you add another line (in the preview I mean, when you save them you can see perfectly). However I am not using a updated browser so maybe is the browser's fault. There is no icon for "scraps"

However I circumvent those problems easily and now I have the top links working as desired :)

Thank you very much :D

Well... as you can see it works for me^^
When the icons don't show up in the list, I guess they aren't cached correctly.
So, clearing your cache should suffice for this one.
I used the icons from st.deviantart.net/minish/gruze… as they are actually already build into the topmenu... I guess in an emergency, you can settle for a paper-aircraft instead. ^^

However, if you already managed to circumvent these things, that's also fine^^

Well. Probably it was a miscomunication for my part.

I will try again:

jakeukalane.deviantart.com/art…

As I don't know the order of the icons, I can choose the one I like.

However, I said before "updated" when I meant outdated XD.  My browser is really old (Chromium 25), so maybe it was that.

It works fine now, suddenly (you can see in the time of the screenshot and in the time of the comment that merely 5 minutes passed.

BTW: The submit to a group script seems to have stopped working.

Thank you very much, you do so much easier our navigation in dA!

Thanks for the notice. It still worked, but some art's sites suddenly got a /#/ before the /art/, so it wasn't active there anymore...

Works great!

One little thing: Having to navigate to dA's Settings page is nifty and all, but i'd also like to have all GM scripts settings consolidated (if possible) to their own space. Like Tools Menu -> Greasemonkey -> User Script Commands. I know this might interfere with compatibility with other plugins (Tampermonkey and co), but it'd still be nice to have.

Mmh... well, the problem is how to realize it. After it's not a simple checklist.^^
First solution would be to just link the GM-menu-entry to the settings menu...
Second would be creating a fixed div on the page with the content of the dA-settings-menu-entry...
Or what are you used to do on such occasions?

Well, a redirect to the Settings page would be an awesome start. Alternatively, have a modal pop up on whatever dA-page you're on, and have the same options there that you'd inject into the Settings page. Similar to this: fav.me/d78a75k

Yeah, that was what I meant. ^^
Well, using a fixed-size settings-dialog is problematic as you can add indefinite link-entries...
Well... scrollbars would fix that but I don't really like that idea... so I made the link to the settings-menu instead^^
It still works in chrome, firefox and opera btw. ^^

Didn't think about the scrollbars. But yeah, thanks!
