About:

This script adds a symbol next to the deviants name that shows if the user is online, some days offline, offline for a longer time or invisible.
It also shows you if the user is watching you.

This is a working script! Install it if you want this!

Features:

--> adds a symbol next to the deviants name that shows his status:
red - Offline longer than a week
yellow - Offline shorter than a week
green - Online
grey - Invisible
--> GM-Menu lets you set if there should be a Not-Watching-Button and since when a Deviant is in red-status!
--> displays a new button "Watching You" when Deviant is watching you, otherwise "Not watching you"
--> only works on their profile-page!
--> uncheck "extra watch-button"to change the present +watch-button instead!
--> if the clock-symbol is shown, the script currently updates your watcher-list! Hover over the symbol to see how many are already updated! (something about 600 Watchers/second)
--> if you go to another profile/actualize while the script is updating, it will resume updating on the new site
--> clicking on the button will get you a setting-window to choose:
- - - >when a Deviant is not yellow but red
- - - >if the button should be visible when not watching you
- - - >after which time the watcher-list should be updated
- - - >If you'd like the long text-watch-button or a shorter one
--> Click on the Friends-button and then "Manage friends". In the upcoming list, hover over the names of the people you watch. After some seconds there should be a little Icon like on their profile-page, when they were last active. Now you can just remove all that are inactive for some years or something^^

Preferences:

Should work with Firefox, Opera and Chrome! For Opera and Chrome see my Howto [link] to install properly. It may also work in Safari, but is not tested.

Install: [link]

Again, it was a visual suggestion, located here: [link]
However, I know there is a script that already shows if you are watched.
Well, I wanted to create my own and heard the other stopped working.
But don't think, I just copy some parts from there! This script is fully written by myself!

Update:
Some errors using Firefox are fixed with some rewrites.
Errors with Chrome are fixed by switching to tampermonkey-extension.

Update v3:
I changed the watch-button instead of adding a new one.
It changes to "mutual watchers" when you watch each other.
The profile-page contains now a settings-button.
The Friend-list will now get Icons depending on the user's last activity on hover.

If you update from an earlier version it may display the buttons wrong until you let it refetch your list.

A great example of collaboration between dA related galleries. DA suggestion by =sarahell inspired ~Dediggefedde to create Dev_User_Inf. Great job by both!

Have you considered making a script for when people I'M watching are no longer active? I would like to remove people that haven't updated in years, so I can easier manage who I am watching.

Hi!

I was working on this script today and I implemented a feature that would help you do that.
I'm not a friend of automatic removing, so you still have to remove by hand.

If you update to v3.0 and go to your friends-list: [link] and hover over a name, after some seconds there should be a little icon with it's title telling you when the user last logged on. On your profile-page you can set when the icon gets red instead of yellow (week, month, year etc.).

So, quickly hovering over the names and removing everything that's red should help you cleaning your watchlist a bit^^

Damn Google is giving me the run around, won't let me install it like I did a long time ago, saying extensions from other sites is not approved or some lousy shit like that, and being I do know how to generally make the url a trusted one, but don't exactly have the full on know how to do so, is there a chance I can have a link to a downloadable version? If it was a downloadable file not a straight install, I could have this all set up and fixed no issue.

Chrome changed its behaviour: all extensions must be installed from google store, nowhere else.

You could/should now use "Tampermonkey" for Chrome to administrate your userscripts.
It lets you install userscript from any page again.
It provides a few nice functions and makes it easier to separate userscripts from extensions... also to see what is actually running and you can even edit scripts... also a little sandbox, so in case of an error, only the script crashes...

Also there is nothing more then this .user.js-file. if installing doesn't work, downloading goes with a right-click + save as.

I would facepalm, but due to my recent brain injury I think that might be a bad idea. When my brain is running at the full capacity, then I'll see to really setting this all up. But thank you, tis much appreciated.

How do you un-install it?

:icondediggefedde:
I guess, you use firefox.
To deactivate it, click on the greasemonkey-addon and onto the script's name, so the check disappears.
To remove it, go to your addon-list and to "userscripts". There is a list with every userscript and the option to disable, remove or change the script.

May I ask you why you choose to uninstall it?

I installed it to Google Chrome. Is it the same for that?

Immediately after and since I downloaded it, my computer is jumbling everything on deviantart (squashing icons together, mixing up words, etc.). It's probably just my computer alone, it has issues with all kinds of things.

Did you install it using "Tampermonkey" extension? I advice everybody to use Tampermonkey on chrome as there are functions that won't run natively.
If you installed it natively, there should be an entry in your extension-list. (options->tools->extensions) with a "remove" button or a trashcan-symbol.
If you installed it on Tampermonkey, where should be a context-menu after clicking the Tampermonkey-symbol.
depending on version there is an entry "Options" or "Overview" or such. After clicking that, a new tab opens with a list of all userscripts and trashcans on the far right to remove then.
