So, here is the promised flash! The tragic prince Muschio goes in a dungeon to clean it out!
The author of the original story, weaver, is currently in trouble and homeless! Visit his tumblr for details: [link]
Warning: mature for blood/violence, but no gore. Hint: It's not a "game" you can play, but rather a short-story which making was a game.
How to use
You need some flash-player for your Browser to view this, e.g. the one from adobe: [link] You can use your mouse to click on the arrows left/right to go to the previous/next frame, the skull to start, the orb to view additional comments! If you would rather use your keyboard, press >enter< for additional comments and arrow-keys for browsing. please note that some of the images are animated, so take your time for read the comments, not just fast-clicking to view the pictures...
About the flash:
I created it using the pictures and lines from a text-RPG from tgchan: [link] So, that's neither my story nor my characters nor pictures. The one drawing this was someone named "weaver": [link]
If you don't know, what a text-RPG is: weaver drew the first pictures and asked then, what Muschio, the main-character should do. the community in tgchan made then some suggestions from which some were chosen by weaver to get realized. I copied the main-leading suggestion into straight view and some additional that get visible if you press the orb or >enter<. So, I asked Weaver for permission to make this and publish it here, if I give proper credits.
Of course I needed to alter some pictures/animations to fit better and I made the navigation+orb+skull... and some actionscript... so not only copy+past^^ The main time-consumer was designing.
I was inspired by the flash from ruby's quest (which is from weaver, too^^ ; also mature): [link]
Statistics: about 600 objects in 220 frames from 130 rpg-pictures
Review:
Well, this is the first flash I made... So I would like to get some critiques, about text-color, arrangement, etc. Those critiques may lead to a second version! As I still have the source-file, I can still make alterations^^ Please note, that the neither the story nor the pictures are mine, so please talk with weaver about it: tgchan.org/kusaba/questdis/res/313859.html
A problem I encountered was, that the current source-file for this is very unhandy... it's just 500MB, but I need to resize the flash to 100*100 to delete a frame in the middle of timeflow unless I don't want to get a "out of memory"-exception^^ Another problem is, that this flash got kind of long... so, if you like it and I want to make something similar for the second chapter (there are currently 24 ongoing), I may part the stories somewhere in the middle... And how about a register of contents to switch to a specific frame?
Very very very awesome flash adaptation. Do you plan to do Knight Blades too? It's not necessary per se but it would be awesome if you did the entire DiveVerse. [link]
Thanks! Well, I already read the whole diveverse^^ Also cheequest which is also very interesting... Well, At first I will continue with flashs for divequest (which will be a lot faster now because I got adobe flash... well, when I actually get the time to work on it^^).
Yeah, that was surprising^^ Although with this I kind of expect to be surprised, so I had something like this in mind when beginning to read^^ But it is also interesting how his his goal is slowly changing in future chapters...
Thanks for your comment! I think I will continue with the next chapter then^^ Did you enjoy the flash? Do you have ideas for improvement? (As I base the flash on the text-rpg I can't change the story, but of course the display^^)
Yes! I really like it, although if it's going to be a text-rpg with no choices, it kinda defeats the point of it.... ^^U Great job otherwise! I can't wait for the next chapter!
Well, with that it would be also pointless to have an archive of finished stories! I often enjoy read through the old games, even when I participated^^ In my opinion it is like reading a comic/book-thing!
e.g. Ruby's quest has already a flash made out of it and I really enjoyed reading it, so I cam to think of making one myself^^ Another candidate I really like would be cheequest... the author, lagotrope, is currently running amok on tgchan, having 4 quests parallel open and kind of 20 updates per day^^
Well, in this case there would be even another point as chapter 24 is currently in-the-making^^ So, if you like to join there, it is often faster to read through those flashes than through the wall of text on tgchan's board.
By the way: you say, you can't wait for the next chapter? Did you notice the "next"-link in my description? I am currently up to chapter 4, currently working on ch.5^^
