About:

Installable userscript: Search within your Notes!

This is a working script! Install it if you want this!

This userscript adds a search-form in your note-section so you can search for usersnames, subjects, messages and dates.

This is an entry for deviantart-Related's collaboration-contest: [link]
=sugarpoultry has made a similar visual suggestion some time ago: [link]

You can search via Regex:
Normal words should be contained.
2 different words will pe separated with |: interview|promote will search for notes containing interview or Note.
To search for 2 words within one note use .*: interview.*promote
Search for patterns: "myd+. entry" will match "my 1. entry" "my 2. entry" "my 123. entry"
Not sure about nicknames? make wildcarts: "de.*fedde" will match my name, too!

Site-effect: Browsing pages and filtering will become much faster!

How to use

The first time you open the Note-search, it will have to index your notes.
For 300 notes this may take 10s.
Every time you reopen the note-search it will look for new notes and index them automatically.
However, when deleting a note, you have to reindex (with the button) it yourself.

To search simply insert search-words.

Preferences:

works well with...
firefox + Greasmonkey-addon,
chrome + tampermonkey,

Information for installing can be seen here: [link]

yes, I am trying again right now. I installed with tampermonkey. I also read your reaplies to the people and the system need to do a database or something like that. It is normal that takes a lot?? I have like 600 notes (400 in inbox). The rest of the page don't work in anyway. I will leave 5 minutes... for now, seems to respond better than before (it crashed from few secons, now seems is doing something although I have no visual elements to confirmate if it is doing really something)

Thank you, also thanks for you filter deviation script :)

well, yes, it will take some time to crawl through your deviations.
However, hovering over the sandclock at the "Reindex"-Button should give you a progress-text.
For me and 300 Notes in Inbox in Chrome it was done in 30s.
Please note, that it only searches notes in your inbox^^
Maybe you should visit [link] to see the mask with the reindex-button at the start. It will also appear when clicking on the "Notes"-tab

well, it didn't crash now, but I can't interact at all with that tab, no matter the time i wait.

It is not problem the notes in other folder, i want to search in infox precisely for store those notes in folders...

I will try with firefox other day. Since the last time it seeams to have improved the performance because it didn't crash nor slow down the browser. i wonder if it a chromium issue. I will try also chrome and other installation of chromium in order to know what is causing it.

Don't worry, i will keep trying :)

Thanks for your time! and thanks for those scripts! (the filter dev_folders is awesome!)

This is so cool!
Sadly after indexing the notes and searching, it gives me a blank note even though there are 3 pages of (blank) results?

A blank note?
I didn't encounter a blank note until now^^
Are there no entries listed and 3 pages shown? or are you meaning that you originally have 3 pages full of notes and now after typing something in the search-input, no entry is shown?
What did you search for? how many notes do you have in total? if you empty the search-form or reload the page, will your notes show up again?

Yep to the "there no entries listed and 3 pages shown."
I searched for a deviant's name. (the person sent about 5 notes to me before?)

I have 602 notes, and when i reloaded the page the same issue still occurred.

Odd that now it magically works :o (omg what happened)

Mmh... Well, I didn't ancounter anything like that, so maybe some object wasn't genereated yet when the script started running.
